How to Protect Your Energy (Without Fear, Drama, or Fight)
There’s a point on the intuitive path where you start to notice things differently.
You notice how you feel after being around certain people.
You notice how your body responds in certain spaces.
You notice that sometimes you feel lighter, and other times you feel inexplicably heavy or tired.
This isn’t something to be afraid of.
It’s awareness.
I often hear people talk about “energy protection” as if the world is full of things trying to get at us. Entities. Attachments. Psychic attack. While there are moments where discernment is important, most of the time what people are experiencing is far simpler and far more human.
Sensitive, intuitive people tend to open easily. We listen deeply. We hold space. We feel into others. And if we’re not careful, we can drift slightly out of ourselves without realising it.
That’s when you start to feel drained.
Not because someone is doing something to you, but because your attention, care, or emotional presence has moved outward and stayed there.
Sometimes this shows up as tiredness after conversations.
Sometimes as fogginess or irritation.
Sometimes as a sense of being “not quite in your body”.
These are not flaws. They’re signals.
For me, energy protection isn’t about shielding or fighting. It’s about coming back into myself.
Sometimes I call in the dragons, not as protectors against something outside of me, but as ancient allies who help me remember how to stand rooted and whole within my own energy.
It’s also about noticing when I’ve given too much of my energy away, either through worry, responsibility, over-holding, or especially trying to fix something that isn’t mine to fix and then I gently reclaim and call my energy back to me.
We all carry energy fields that interact constantly. And when someone is struggling, overwhelmed, or unknowingly stuck in patterns of victimhood or control, they can unconsciously draw on your energy. You may have heard the term “energy vampire” used before. While that language can feel a little harsh, it’s often a useful metaphor. It simply describes a dynamic where one person gives more energy than is healthy, and the other unconsciously receives or pulls without restoring or giving back.
But here’s the truth: we’ve all been on both sides. We’ve all had moments of depletion and moments where we’ve taken too much. This isn’t about blame. It’s about awareness and sovereignty.
A simple way I do this is by pausing.
Placing my feet on the ground.
Taking a breath.
Letting my awareness drop back into my body, sometimes placing a hand on my heart.
Sometimes I’ll quietly say something like:
“I call back all my energy cleansed and clear.”
That’s it. No drama. No ritual unless I want one.
Nature also helps enormously. Walking among trees. Being near water. Touching the earth. These aren’t spiritual add-ons, they’re ways the nervous system remembers safety and balance.
So does rest and saying no when you need to. And so does not explaining yourself when you don’t have the energy.
Looking after your energy doesn’t mean closing your heart.
It means staying present inside yourself while you move through the world.
And the more you practise that, the steadier everything else becomes.
Signs Your Energy Might Be Getting Drained:

You feel tired, foggy, irritable, or anxious after certain interactions

You notice recurring physical symptoms (headaches, fatigue, tension) that align with specific relationships or environments

You sense guilt or obligation that keeps you entangled in someone else's emotional world

You feel like you’re doing all the giving, and it’s never enough
Why Energy Boundaries Matter
Boundaries aren’t walls, they’re invitations to come closer, consciously. And energetic boundaries are no different. When we don’t have them, we leak our energy. And when others are struggling, they may unconsciously latch onto that leakage to feel better, even momentarily.
That’s why learning to ground, clear, and protect your field is one of the very first things we do in the Dragon Codes Spiral, the first spiral in the Sophianic Spiral of the Dragon Rose. The dragons are fierce protectors. They teach us that power is not about control, but about clarity. When you’re clear in your energy, you’re untouchable. Not guarded, but sovereign.

A Daily Dragon-Inspired Cord-Cutting Ritual:

Find a quiet moment and place both feet on the earth (barefoot if you can).

Take a few deep, centering breaths.

Visualise a dragon, (perhaps one of fire or air), clearing your field with golden light.

Say out loud or in your heart:
“I call back all my energy across time, space, and dimension. I release what is not mine with gratitude and love. I am sovereign, whole, and protected.” -
Imagine any cords dissolving and the dragons sealing your aura with light.

Thank your guides, dragons, and higher self.
You don’t need to do this with fear or drama. This is about tending to your energy with compassion and care, just like brushing your teeth or having a shower.

Other Ways to Support Your Energy Field:

Spend time in nature, especially near trees or moving water

Smudge your space with sage, cedar, or mugwort

Use essential oils like lavender, frankincense, or myrrh

Keep your environment clear of clutter and visual “noise”

Work with crystals like black tourmaline, obsidian, or selenite
-
Rest when you're tired. Say no when you're called to.
